September 30, 2011. GetWord Library version 4.1 is available!
New product features for Version 4.1:

• Re-construct the GetWord library. In the minimum deployment mode, you only need two dll files! The new library keeps all the functionalities and shares the same calling interface with the previous versions. At the same time it will use as less files as possible.

• Add IE9 support. This version provide full compatibility with the Internet Explorer 9 (IE9). Both 32-bit and 64-bit IE9 are supported.

• Improve the text capturing speed for 64-bit applications.

• Fix the bug of low text capturing speed for EverNote.

January 22, 2011. GetWord Library version 4.0 is available!
New product features for Version 4.0:

• x64 support. Now GetWord supports all the x64 platforms, including WIN7 x64, Windows Server 2008 x64, Windows Vista x64, etc.

• Provide a new designed Dll calling interface (APIs), which shares the same APIs with the ActiveX calling interface. The new Dll calling interface will help deploy your application on WIN 7 more easily, since it does not need to register the GetWord ActiveX control. We suggest you migrate to the new Dll calling interface whether you are using the previous Dll or ActiveX calling interface.

• Disable selected (highlighted) text capturing for some special applications. You can add the window names of these applications to the disable-list in GetWord.ini file. It is something like this:
  ; The window list which are excluded from the highlighted (selected) text capturing windows.
  ; The format is [WindowClassName1],[WindowClassName2],[WindowClassNameN]
  DisableHighlightWnd=ConsoleWindowClass,EXCEL7,EXCEL8,EXCEL9,EXCEL10

• Add several new samples for different programming languages.

• Improve the text capturing speed.

New product features for Version 3.5:

• Modified the Dll calling interface to make sure it will share the same APIs with the ActiveX calling interface.

• Add new message processing mechanism for the Dll calling interface, which is more easy to use.

• Re-implement the ActiveX calling interface, which will use the new designed Dll calling interface internally.

• Improve the JniGetWord module to make sure that GetWord can be called more easily from Java applications.

• (2) PointCaptureMode=1 ; only capture the text below the given capturing point and in the same window with the capturing point

• Add two capturing modes for rectangle text capturing. The mode can be specified in GetWord.ini as follows:

• Fix a bug in the input method selection in the language bar using mouse. This bug maybe causes the input methed selection menu close automatically in some cases

• Fix two bugs for the v3.x newly imported module of selected (highlighted) text capturing. One bug maybe causes the Ctrl+C work incorrectly. In some cases, the Ctrl may be eaten and only left a character "C". This bug can appear if you press Ctrl+C very quickly and frequently. The other bug maybe cause the clipboard do not work, and you can not paste anything. This bug appears rarely, and is only found in some customization versions
  we created for our customers.

• Fix bug for long-time run.  This bug maybe appears for a long-time run continuously, for example, 2-3 days, which appears rarely. It maybe cause the pointing text capturing does not work, and a restart of GetWord will fix this problem.
