QCall is a convenient phone calling tool. It supports making calls from your personal computer (PC) directly, so that you can spare the efforts of dialing the phone numbers on your telephone. You can move the mouse cursor to the phone numbers to dial it directly or you can press a combination hotkey to make the call without dialing the numbers at all.

Windows 2000/Windows XP/Windows Server 2003/Windows Vista

1. Making calls from PC directly, no need to dial phone numbers on your telephone.

2. Support quick calling without dialing the phone numbers. You can move your cursor to a phone number or press a hotkey to make the call directly.

3. Support making calls from Modem, Skype, QuickenCall USB Dialer (an accessory devised by QuickenCall, not mandatory).

4. Support two means of phone number capturing: mouse-over phone number capturing and mouse-selection phone number capturing. You can move the mouse cursor to the phone number or select the phone number with mouse to make the calls.

5. Support phone number capturing with hotkey. When the capturing hotkey is triggered, QCall will pull out the phone number at the cursor position and make the call.

6. You can customize the phone number capturing hotkey. Besides the traditional keyboard hotkeys, QCall also supports setting left mouse button or right mouse button as the hotkey.

7. Formalization of phone numbers. It can filter the common symbols (such as parentheses, dash, etc) to make sure the phone number can be recognized by telephone system.

8. It can recognize more than 60 kinds of phone number formats.

9. Extension of the phone number format recognition. You can customize or extend more formats by using regular expression in the configuration file (PhoneNum_Config.ini).

10. Save the calling records automatically. You can look up the historical calling phone numbers, times, dates, etc. It supports recalling a previous phone number conveniently.

11. Internationalization support. You can choose your familiar language from the language list. Also you can add more languages for it. Only a language text file is needed to extend a language.

12. Support popular Windows platforms, such as Windows NT/Windows 2000/Windows XP/Windows Server 2003, etc. It supports the latest Windows Vista platform.

13. Compatible with most of the common applications, such as Microsoft Office Word/Excel, IE5/IE6/IE7, Firefox, Outlook, Open Office, Adobe Acrobat/Acrobat Reader, etc.

How to Install:

1. QCall is green software, which needs not to be installed or uninstalled. You can extract the compressed package to a destination folder to use it directly.

2. On Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003 platforms, you can run QCall.exe to start the application. No any other special settings are needed.

3. On Windows Vista, you need to run QCall as an administrator. You can do this according to the following directions:

    (1) Right click on QCall.exe.

    (2) Select the "Properties" item on the popup menu.

    (3) Select "Compatibility" tab on the popup dialog.

    (4) Check the item "Run this program as an administrator", and click "OK" button.

In fact, QCall still works correctly for most of the software even if it does not run at administrator privilege. But for the software which run at administrator privilege, QCall could not capture any phone numbers  from them because of the inherent security feature of Vista. In this case, you need to run QCall as an administrator to capture phone numbers from these software.

4. Enable phone number capturing in Adobe Acrobat/Acrobat Reader

Many PDF files exist at present. In order to extract phone numbers from these PDF files, QCall devised a corresponding phone number capturing plugin (GetWord.api). QCall will invoke the plugin-installation program "install_plugin.exe" to install the plugin automatically, and you need not do any special setting for it.

If the phone number capturing feature for PDF files does not work correctly, you can copy this plugin file (GetWord.api) to the plugin folder of Adobe Acrobat/Acrobat Reader manually. Say, if you are using Acrobat 7.0 or Acrobat Reader 7.0. The default installation path is as follows:

1 The Main UI of QCall

The main UI of QCall are displayed in Pic.1 and Pic.2.  Pic.1 is the phone calling page, and Pic.2 is the phone calling history page.

On Call Phones page, you can input a phone number, select a phone tool (Modem, Skype or QuickenCall USB Dialer), and press the green calling button to make the call. Press "Clear Log" button will delete all the output information.

On History page, you can look up all the out-calling histories. Double-click a record will recall the phone number. You can also select a record and click the "Call Again" button to recall the number. Click the "Clear Log" button will delete all the calling histories.

2 How to Make a Call

QCall supports three calling means: Modem, QuickenCall USB Dialer and Skype.

(1) Make a Call from Modem

    If there is a Modem in your computer, you can make calls from the Modem. Please do it according to the following steps:

    (1.1) Connect up the Line and Phone lines in Modem and your telephone;

    (1.2) Input the phone number in the Phone Number editbox in Pic.1. The number you input should be the same with that you dial on the telephone panel;

    (1.3) Select "Modem" from Phone Tool drop list, and press the green calling button;

    (1.4) A dialog will pop up (Pic.3). Please pick up the receiver of your telephone or press the hand-free key on your telephone, then click the "Talk" button to make the call;

    (1.5) Put pack the telephone receiver or press the "Hang Up"  button to terminate the current calling.

(2) Make a Call from QuickenCall USB Dialer

    If there is no Modem in your computer, you can buy a USB phone dialer devised by QuickenCall to make calls. This USB dialer is very easy to use. You need not install any driver for it. You can make a call using QuickenCall USB dialer according to the following steps:

    (2.1) Connect the Line line to the Line port of QuickenCall USB dialer, and connect one end the accessory line of QuickenCall USB Dialer to the Phone port of USB dialer, and connect the other end of the accessory line to your telephone;

    (2.2) Insert the USB line end of USB dialer to your computer;

    (2.3) Input the phone number in the Phone Number editbox. The number you input should be the same with that you dial on the telephone panel;

    (2.4) Select "QuickenCall USB Dialer" from Phone Tool drop list, and press the green calling button;

    (2.5) The hand-free key of your telephone is opened automatically by QCall. You can talk in hand-free mode (you need not press the hand-free key on your telephone panel) or you can pick up the receiver to make the call;

    (2.6) Put pack the telephone receiver to terminate the current calling.

(3) Make a Call from Skype

    If there is no Modem in your computer, also you do not buy a USB phone dialer from QuickenCall, you can use Skype (there should be enough calling points in your Skype account) to make the call. Please do it according to the following steps:

    (3.1) Start your Skype client and log into your  account;

    (3.2) Input the phone number or a Skype account name in the Phone Number editbox.  Please remember that, Skype requires that you input the full country code and region code to make a call. For example, the correct phone number in Skype format of our technical support should be +861080906058. If you provide a non-complete phone number or a wrong number, Skype can not make the call and it will complain an error;

    (3.3) Select "Skype" from Phone Tool drop list, and press the green calling button;

    (3.4) Skype will ask whether you will call this number. Please click the "Yes" button to make the call;

    (3.5) Click the red HangUp button of Skype to end the current call.

3 How to Make a Call Using the Quick Calling Feature

Besides making calls in the main UI of QCall, you can also use the Quick Calling feature of QuickenCall. Three means are supported: mouse-over phone number capturing, mouse-selection phone number capturing and hotkey phone number capturing.

(1) Mouse-over Phone Number Capturing

    (1.1) Check whether the mouse-over phone number capturing feature is enabled. If it is disabled, please enable it according to the following steps: Click "Tools"->"Options". In the  popped Options dialog, check the "Enable number capturing with mouse (cursor)" option, and check the radio of "Number capturing when mouse is over the number", then click the "OK" button;

    (1.2) Move the mouse cursor to the phone number you want to call, QCall will pop up the quick calling dialog (Pic.4);

    (1.3) Choose a proper phone tool from the Phone Tool drop list, and click the green calling button to make the call.

(2) Mouse-selection Phone Number Capturing

    (2.1) Check whether the mouse-selection phone number capturing feature is enabled. If it is disabled, please enable it according to the following steps: Click "Tools"->"Options". In the  popped Options dialog, check the "Enable number capturing with mouse (cursor)" option, and check the radio of "Number capturing with mouse selection", then click the "OK" button;

    (2.2) Use your mouse to select the phone number you want to call, QCall will pop up the quick calling dialog (Pic.5);

    (2.3) Choose a proper phone tool from the Phone Tool drop list, and click the green calling button to make the call.

(3) Hotkey Phone Number Capturing

    (3.1) Check whether the hotkey phone number capturing feature is enabled. If it is disabled, please enable it according to the following steps: Click "Tools"->"Options". In the  popped Options dialog, check the "Enable number capturing with Hotkey" option, then click the "OK" button;

    (3.2) Move the mouse cursor to the phone number you want to call and press the phone number capturing key, QCall will pop up the quick calling dialog (Pic.6);

    (3.3) Choose a proper phone tool from the Phone Tool drop list, and click the green calling button to make the call.

4 How to Register a New Phone Number Capturing Hotkey

If you feel the default phone number capturing hotkey of QCal is not proper for you, you can register a  new capturing hotkey. Please do it according to the following steps:

(4.1) Click "Tools"->"Options" to call out the Options dialog (Pic.7 & Pic.8);

(4.2) Check the "Enable number capturing with Hotkey" option, then click the "Register new Hotkey" button to call out the Register New Hotkey dialog;

(4.3) Choose a new hotkey you want to use. Besides the traditional keyboard hotkeys, QCall also supports setting left mouse button or right mouse button as the hotkey.

5 How to Change the Default UI Language

Click "Tools"->"Change Language", and select the language you want to use. (Pic.10)
